School Teacher Attempts Death By Own Action
Mr Howard Reitmeyer, recently moved from Jackson County to Story County, attempted to take his life with a pocket knife. He was detained by officers in Lincoln township and taken to Nevada for mental evaluation after the incident near Zearing. He had been a certificated and employed teacher at District No 4, Lincoln township, and showed no previous signs of danger before the Tuesday closing period.

Refreshments were served after which the guests departed for their various occupations and plans. The college prayer wheeling was held this week at the home of Mr and Mrs. Morgan. Charley Scott is rapidly recovering from his recent illness. Miss Mark Beedle closed a successful term of school over at the county poor fact Friday of last week. Mrs. Kate Ress returned from Clinton where she had been visiting. Through property exchange W. L. Kintzler is now owner of a portion of the Eastwood estate. The MW, BOAT, will meet Tuesday afternoon of this week with Mrs. K. B. Morehouse. W. Wentworth’s is on the sick list this week. Dr. Oxsin Freed of Ebates was here on business Tuesday.
