Lafayette Township creation marks split from Story City
Proceedings of the Story County Board of Supervisors in June 1902 cover approvals of minor claims and tax adjustments, a highway and drainage plan, county contracts, and the formal creation of Lafayette Township from parts of LaFayette outside Story City with an election setup after January 1, 1903. The record names many individuals, townships, and properties involved, including Palestine, Milford, and Nevada townships, plus actions on assessments, aid petitions, and road hearings. The sessions detail adjournments, hearings, and financial reports, concluding with a note on a stomach health advertisement.
