Cattle Feeding Experiment Yields Strong Prices at Chicago Sale
Professors Curtiss Kennedy and Marshall with Cook farm delegates sent ninety five day feeding cattle to Chicago where eleven lots sold to Nelson Morris for 7 65 7 50 and 7 20 a total of 20000 dollars to Mr Cook. Hog trials with by products showed gains of 244 pounds per seven weeks and top hogs at 310 pounds sold to Swift Co. Mixed farm and church social notes follow with obituaries and local visits.

Openning of Half Million Acres Near Bonesteel Opens Vast Homestead Field
The new extension of the North Western line to Bonesteel South Dakota opens a large tract between the Missouri and Niobrara rivers for settlement. Land sells at twenty to thirty five dollars an acre for farms and six to fifteen for grazing. A lottery may decide entries with fifty thousand expected. To claim 160 acres a head of a family must reside and cultivate for five years, and be a U.S. citizen or declare intent. The line reaches Verdigre to the Missouri River.

Rebekah convention gathers in Ames from two counties
The Rebekah convention of Boone and Story counties met in Ames on Thursday June 12. Despite bad weather a good turnout from two districts attended. Gertrude N Morris of Ames opened the first session at 1 30 pm. The afternoon featured exemplification of Rebekah degree work by Superior Rebekah lodge of Webster City, praised for Ruth and Naomi. Grand Master Newman of Des Moines urged the convention to be a school of restoration. Officers elected for next year were President Mrs Walker Nevada Vice President S E Nelson Ames Secretary Pearl Gretsinger Nevada Treasurer Aattie D Brouchard Ames. About 350 attended the evening session with Mayor Sheldon delivering a favorable address.
