Bob Darner bought one of Ames oldest houses near the armory then moved it a mile to a vacant lot in Harriman & Lee. He arranged to supply water and fuel to stop traffic at Burnett street crossing during the night move. The journey stretched into a second day and the house heads toward Meadowlark Station for a long rest.

Sudden Death in Mine Area Leaves Family Grief
