Sunday observances filled Ames churches with good attendance and activities. A union meeting of Ames young people is set for June 17 at 6:45 PM at the Congregational church. The Woman’s Christian Temperance Union meets June 15 at 3 PM in the Congregational lecture room. Mrs. M. F. Hinman will speak June 18 at the Congregational church on women’s work, free to the public. Also notes on a track meet gathering, a Y P C U ice cream social June 20, and a reception for the Ames high school graduates at the Underwood home. Married: Nancy E. Freed and Marcus J. Goldberger wed June 10 at the Freed home, with plans for Chicago and Mapleton as their new home.
Ames high school alumni met Tuesday evening and elected officers including Miss Sheldon president Lou Tilden vice president Miss Maxwell secretary Miss Thayer corresponding secretary Miss Winter treasurer A meeting is set for next Tuesday at 8 30 pm at Miss Thayer s to continue business all alumni urged to attend.
