He was brought to Ames by auto and taken to his mother’s home for care. The injured leg was treated by Dr. A B Maxwell and Dr. Hey Brecke of Iowa City, who were visiting at the Maxwell residence.
The W. H. Grover W Best and T. W. Hauser families went on a picnic north of the city. A rig with provisions was crossing Skunk River when a tug broke and several swimmers aided safety as the party escaped.
Mrs. 8. L. Mabie reports her son Lee Beverly scored 92 2 3 percent on the state board exam. Only one of 78 test takers surpassed him, a margin of just 1.2 points above Beverly. Ames boys always make good.

Mrs. J. KR. Gildden is with her daughter at Amherst. Mrs. Norman and her son are getting along fine with family news and updates.
Neil Hyatt a fifteen year old boy of Lena Hyatt residing at 14 Bastard Street was injured when bicycles collided with an automobile owned by Acme Chocolate Company. The boy suffered a broken shoulder blade, facial scrapes, and a severe shaking up as the bicycle was badly wrecked. The collision occurred Friday around 3:30 PM with the auto trying to pass on the left.
The new farm value recording law began in July. Recorder Tesday offers blanks and books. A $1 recording fee applies and a farm’s name must be described like a deed. The first to record a farm name gains exclusive use, so farmers should file early to avoid others claiming names.
