Women and Banking in a Veteran Banker’s View
A Cincinnati Commercial Tribune piece recalls a veteran banker describing how some women misunderstand banking. He cites deposits vs notes, overdrawn accounts, and forged signatures, noting many women confuse notes with cash and insist on funds they cannot access. He cites cases of a daughter forging her father’s signature and a widow withdrawing her entire balance to save for a young lawyer, illustrating ongoing credit misperceptions.
