New Vice President Named for Interurban Line
Fort Dodge Des Moines and Southern railway announces the appointment of H. A. Wallace of Chicago as vice president. Wallace, son of John F. Schools Back In Session After Christmas Break
The city schools reopened Monday after a two week vacation with classes resuming in reading writing and arithmetic. High school students spent part of vacation in various activities. Teacher changes include Miss Susie Knudson from Nevada joining German and English due to large enrollment. First semester ends this week with final exams next week.

At Gowrie on January 26 Ames chickens swept prizes across Partridge Wyandottes White Rocks and White Wyandottes classes. Wes Bateman, recently in Eagle Grove to tend his farm, faced a lengthy delay due to a wreck at Woolstock. The south train had already departed by the time they reached Jewell, and after more wait they rode a freight to Ames, arriving as dawn chorus began. First Basketball of Season Opens for Iowa State

Foreigner Suffers Severe Accident in Rail Work Car
Chris Pappas, a foreign worker for the Fort Dodge Des Moines and Southern railway, slipped from a work car door while throwing out water and fell onto the track. He was found about half an hour later, taken to Boone's Eleanor Moore hospital, and treated for frost bite to ears nose and toes with a bruised knee and no other injuries.
