Organized capital cuts jobs and doubles duties at rail firms
A city report notes railroad and express companies double the night telegraph work at the ticket office, cutting staff and wages by five to ten dollars monthly since New Year. The piece blames petty officials, cites improved business, and warns such moves fuel strikes between capital and labor. Election of church officers followed, with A B Noble and others chosen for two year terms.
