Wayne County hosts poultry judging with Walter Perkins from Story County absent this week. He judged Corydon poultry show yesterday and today and will judge at Moulton for the Citizens Horse and Poultry Fair on Friday and Saturday. He plans to return to Ames next week to prepare his birds for the Ames poultry show January 8–11. Bazaar of the Lutheran ladies is set for Saturday evening in Odd Fellows Hall.

Death Comes Unexpectedly to J C Elliott of Ames
J C Elliott of Ames died suddenly from heart failure Friday while at home in Story County. Born May 26 1857 in Story County he lived most of his life here aside from three years in Dakota. He married Ella M Harris January 24 1884 and left a wife three children a brother a mother and four sisters. Funeral services were held December 8 1907 at First Baptist Church with Rev Walter I Fowle and the burial followed at Walnut Grove Cemetery.

Death of John Johnson Kelley Iowa
John Johnson a longtime Kelley resident died November 27 after a weeklong illness. Born in Boise Denmark he moved to America in 1868 arriving in Marengo and later Story county. He farmed near Kelley before becoming a wagon maker and lived in Kelley until his death. He leaves wife three sons J M and L W and a daughter Mrs C A Rosenfield. Funeral December 1 at Kelley Baptist Church with Odd Fellows assistance. The Ladies of the Baptist Church announce a handkerchief and apron sale December 14 in the Lockwood Room near the News Stand.
