After months of search the state Board selected Raymond A. Pearson of New York as president of Ames College. Pearson will begin duties soon after August. Dean Stanton will remain as professor and secretary to the Board. The faculty committee screened many candidates before choosing Pearson, who received strong endorsements from Justice Hughes and leaders in agricultural education.

A young Ames man, Elliott, was held on a serious charge of enticing a girl under eighteen for immoral purposes after a Justice court hearing. County Attorney Hadhey led the prosecution. bond set at $506, later reduced to $500, posted by J R Hanna and Martin Erickson who mortgaged Elliott's widowed mother's home. The case moves to district court if pursued.
