Crop Bulletin Des Moines Week Ending April 24 1906
Des Moines Iowa weather and crop summary for the week ending April 24 1906 notes a dry first half with cool, favorable field work followed by copious showers in Thursday and Friday across most of the state except a northern belt. Frost and ice occurred on several mornings but caused little damage to crops. Ground preparation for corn progresses with much land ready for planters. Soil at six inches depth shows 89 degrees at the State College farm as showers and warmth improve pastures and grain growth, with a generally early season and promising crop outlook.
