Columbus and Florida railway survey spurs local push
A Columbus Enquirer Sun report details a citizen-driven push for a new railroad southward. Twenty locals formed a committee, surveyed routes to Albany and toward Tallahassee, and pledged funds to start surveying crews this week. They stress the line would restore trade, challenge Buena Vista and Pensacola routes, and connect Columbus with Florida markets.
