Georgia Exhibit Draws Ohio Farmers with Fruit and Stock Claims
Newark Ohio September 30 Our long 116 mile run ended at Columbus depot stirring crowds who treated our Georgia exhibit as a Centennial attraction. Reigel of Thomasville toured, while Ohio farmers from Bellaire and Montgomery county showed keen interest in Keifer pears and Georgia crops. I emphasized markets for early fruit and praised Georgia cattle, sheep, and hogs, urging Northern farmers to relocate if they could match Georgia yields and stock quality. The journey wraps as autumn winds turn fields brown and I plan to head south after Sidney and Columbus stops.
