Inauguration of W J Northen as Georgia Governor
Special to Reconder. Atlanta November 8. Hon. W J Northen inaugurated as Georgia governor in the new Capitol hall. Preparations fill galleries and aisles as Northen leads procession with J P Walker and ex Governor Gordon among many officials. Northen outlines public policy favoring uniform laws, reduced taxes, education, and restraint on corporate power. He condemns centralization and calls for broad citizen rights, fair enforcement, and improved schools. The oath is administered by Chief Justice Bleckley and the ceremony ends with pardons and a reception.
