Georgia News Miscellany From Cedartown to Ipswich

A varied Georgia column reports Miss Lulu Hurst and Mrs. Dixie Haygood set to clash in Macon, plus oddities from a Montezuma man with an eyeless chicken to a Sylvania lawyer collecting his first fee in a steer and fodder. It also notes a Houston county boy cooking a lizard, Gen. Jackson’s 1818 earthworks near Chickasawhatchee, an owl-taming doctor in Clinch county, Kimball House’s April 30 opening with a grand ball and banquet, and a vivid Artesia lynching story. Ipswich artesian well yields warm, drinkable water, while a French doctor touts groaning to lower pulse.
