Kentucky Story Tells How Stewart Box Came To Be
The Kentuckian’s Call on A T Stewart recounts A T Stewart hosting four Kentuckians in his theatre box after a call on him in New York. Stewart escorted them through his establishment and greeted them with a private box invitation, ending with a champagne collation. Also noted is the 192d Grand Monthly Distribution of the Louisiana Blaze Lottery in New Orleans on May 11 1886 awarding 265 500 in prizes and multiple agents across the US. The piece closes with a note that the New York Republicans fear a clean sweep at the port’s custom house if offensive partisans depart.
