Town Talk and Local Goods Advertisements

A dense, scratchy note from a 19th century Americus page mixes shop ads with city notices. Leading grocer E. D. Ansley hawks staples and cheap spices while boasting storage for pepper and sugar, plus rum stock at low prices. Local chatter mentions the cotton crop, land prep for hay, a new machinist shop planned by Mr. Sawyer, and city improvements like a proposed steam fire engine for Cordele and a motor-powered sausage cutter. Ripe peaches flood markets and multi-firm notices about shipments, engines, and a large warehouse project near Pince Beas’ stables round out the scanned item.
