The Savannah Bank and Company files a foreclosure petition in Superior Court against J R P Durham of Dougherty County Georgia. Durham conveyed land to Il Frazier Grant & Co by mortgage to secure two drafts dated December 1 1853 payable October 15 1884 and November 9 1664 totaling 2500 dollars each. The drafts and mortgage remain unpaid, and the petition seeks a rule to show cause why Durham should pay principal interest and attorney fees and for foreclosure of the mortgaged property.
The stockholders of the Americas Preston and Laupkin Railroad Company will meet at the company's office in Americas on Wednesday June 17 at 10 o'clock A M for the purpose of electing a board of directors for the ensuing year. June 5 1885 S H Hawkins President.
