A reader reports a dubious claim of a complete remedy for itching pimples and skin humors. The ad cites Richmond Virginia suppliers and a “complete cure” promise, naming G. W- Scaly and AAC Phelps of Ravenna.
R T Durd named resident agent for Life Insurance Company at Amellicus Georgia. The notice identifies the firm and the agent tasked with local administration and service.
From Richland Ricutano January 10 1887 the letter reports a disputed county election with an independent winner amid black voter presence and widespread concern over county finance discounted orders and scrip. It urges the county to borrow and discount its own papers and notes local social updates including marriages, court, guano bills, school opening, and weather. The piece also lists elected county officers, a death, a mule killed by a train, and railroad leadership changes.

A wedding occurs January 9 in Schley County Miss Laura Holloway to Mr W A McMath. Oats sown in fall feared killed by deep frost.
