Subscription in advance demanded by local paper
The RecordEr will require all subscribers to pay in advance after March first. Arrears will lead to removal from the list and accounts turned to an officer for collection. Patrons may send money by registered letter or money order. The paper argues credit leads to losses and urges prompt payment to support editorial work and improvements.

Artesiana notes the Artesian well committee drew 955 feet of casing from Well No 2 preparing for an Artesian pump to supply 60 000 gallons daily. A 5 inch casing will extend hundreds of feet and feed water to mains via a 50 000 gallon iron reservoir rising 30 feet. Water from deeper Well No 2 should be stronger and cooler than from Well No 1. Separately Robert H Coleman, mine owner near Lebanon Pa, sent a Christmas gift of turkeys to 500 families and hosted a grand residence celebration with a tall Christmas tree and gifts. no mine strikes have occurred.
