Peckatone mansion in Virginia linked to early colonial era
Guests from the Piney Point Hotel toured Peckatone near the Potomac, a three story brick manor dating to 1660 with ties to Cromwell era patents and colonial families. The house, once ruined, was restored by owner Horace Kirkwood, preserving walls, wine vaults, and a grand lawn amid oaks. Washington, Madison, and Monroe are said to have visited in youth.
