Tampa Drug Ring Seized Across South. 18 Arrested
Federal narcotics agents raided what is believed to be a major dope headquarters in Tampa seizing narcotics worth over 1 million dollars. Eighteen people were arrested including the alleged king and aides. children as young as six are implicated in peddling dope in Tampa. Shipments arrive from foreign ports and are moved by motor boats to offshore transfer points. The operation spans Florida Georgia Alabama South Carolina and other states with more arrests expected as officers continue the crackdown led by Joe M Bransky from Washington.

Richland Bottling Plant Destroyed By Fire
In Richland Georgia on September 23 the Richland Chero-Cola Bottling Company was completely destroyed by a blaze started when a gasoline engine backfired while cranked at the bottling plant. Water and smoke damaged the Richland Co-operative Hatchery and Richland Feed and Supply Company. Firefighters contained the flames within the plant.

Child's Charge Breaks Him Down
Frank Malone alias Hank Malone, 36, was arraigned in Adams St Court Brooklyn on homicide charges and held without bail for examination in Homicide Court Flatbush. Police say he stabbed to death Anna Winkelson, 35, in Brooklyn while drunk after a 19 year acquaintance and reportedly said he did it for her own good. A dramatic scene occurred when Winkelson's child confronted Malone, allegedly triggering his confession.
