Detroit plants of Ford Motor Company will reopen parts tomorrow after a coal sit down last Saturday that left 100,000 workers idle nationwide. Hdsel B. Ford, president of the company, ordered the reopening from Cincinnati.
The county’s cotton weighed in this period totals 11 500 bales with receipts for last year noted. The remainder will be gathered over the next two weeks and may push the final county total above 15 000 bales. Harvest likely by late November with the crop near 20 000 bales when finished.
Walter A. Sims, tied to the Ku Klux Klan, defeats James G. Woodward in Atlanta runoff primary by a 1,000 vote margin amid ward splits. Northside wards favor Woodward while other wards back Sims, with accusations of irregularities and a potential contest before the city Democratic Committee.
