City Democratic Committee Fixes Primary Date and Elections

The city Democratic executive committee met at the People's National Bank and fixed the primary for city offices on Wednesday November 5th the same day as the presidential election. Polls run 8 am to 6 pm at the north entrance of City Hall. Democrats meeting residency and tax rules can vote. nonvoters must register and pay 1801 taxes to vote in the regular election.

Loyd in Jail Amid Abuse Charges and Family Turmoil

A white man named Loyd is held in the county jail after Saturday night abuse toward his wife and daughter. Neighbors report drunken outbursts and threats as he destroyed items in the home. Judge Mathews may take up the criminal docket next week to consider charges.
