Sumter County Commissioners Set Tax Rates for 1925-26
Americus Georgia September 7 1925 County board meets and fixes 1925 tax digest value at 8 601 373 dollars. levies include 16 cents for debt, 12 each for courthouse and jail, 25 cents for bridges, 60 cents sheriff, 2 cents coroner, 23 cents court, 1 91 for special bridges, 50 cents poor, 3.00 roads per thousand plus various other items. Upon adjournment, grants 1 000 dollars to County Board of Education and levies school district taxes for multiple communities specified as Andersonville Anthony Concord Huntington New Era Plains Pleasant Grove Shiloh Thompson Union. Recess until Sept 9.
