Federation Strive to Raise Strike Fund in Atlanta

At the Atlanta Federation of Trades meeting a resolution urged every union man to donate a dollar weekly for the strike fund aiding striking shop craftsmen. The fund appeals as they enter the third month of their action. J O Milley explained the federation has no power to assess dues. Mott Quinn, federation president, appointed a six member committee to visit unions to promote the fund.

1700 Enroll for Schools Opens After Registration

The public schools will open in Americas Monday morning at 8 30 o clock with a registration of 900 white pupils and 800 colored students. Registration is near completion and those reexamined for school promotion were served. Final totals are expected to exceed last year. About 250 pupils are registered for the high school and the faculty at first school will be largely new, with only three teachers returning. A teachers meeting Saturday will discuss plans for the year, Superintendent Mathis announced.
