Presentation detailed a planned factory to make a self sharpening shovel. A sample was shown and pricing suggested undercut current shovels while yielding profit. The plant, valued at about 10000 dollars, would seek local capitalists for equal stock, with about 300 workers anticipated.

Five sessions scheduled from Friday evening through Sunday at the Americas Methodist church. Rev H C Jones of the South Georgia Conference and Miss Frayser of Louisville lead the Sunday School Institute. Miss Frayser will address parents Sunday morning at 10. A Virginia settler from the Americus region will join Sumter to farm. Mr R W Buchanant plans to move December to reside and engage in farming, already holding interests in the county and arranging permanent settlement.

The new emporium, to be known as the D Pearlman Department Store, will feature an opening sale with sharp price cuts in coming days.
A letter from Superintendent J W Bryant read to the Board of Trade suggests inviting the Indiana delegation for the November 18 unveiling of the Indiana monument at Andersonville to base visitors in Americus. H R Ott, butter maker for the new creamery, arrived Monday and will supervise the machinery installation before opening. The building, due for completion in two days, with concrete floor finished and painting to follow, and machinery expected daily for immediate placement per W B Wort.
The infant child of Mr. H. J. Webb died Tuesday and was buried beside the mother in Sumter cemetery. The infant, only one week old, joined the mother in a brighter sphere, a sorrowful farewell amid quiet family grief.
