Hon Dudley M Hughes representative in congress from the Third district was again nominated by the Third congressional district convention in Core dele. Sumter county sent W T Lane J A Taylor John T Williams and James Fort as delegates. Lane called the meeting and Holder was elected temporary chair man. Dr McArthur was named permanent chair man, a five member platform committee was chosen. Lane chaired the platform drive and Hughes was nominated by Lane and accepted amid cheers. Delegates dined at the Suwanee hotel after adjournment.
