Fire destroys Statham barn in Cobb County
A large barn on Ernest Statham’s Cobb County farm burned with oats feed and livestock inside. Ten mules and several pure herd hogs were moved to safety before the roof collapsed. The fire, of unknown origin, damaged no nearby buildings. W. C. Carter, 59, died later at a Milledgeville sanitarium.

Plane halfway to Hawaii on record nonstop flight
The navy seaplane PN-1 has completed more than half of its 1,100 nautical mile non stop flight from San Francisco to Hawaii at 6 am. The flagship seaplane led the way westward while the second craft rides the Pacific 300 miles from Frisco, with the destroyer William Jones nearby to tow the disabled plane if needed.

War veterans freed after wet raid at Mayo hotel
Oklahoma war veterans at the Mayo hotel faced a raid by federal prohibition officers led by Henry Beard.
