Sumter County Commissioners seek 25 misdemeanor and 26 felony convicts from the State Prison Commission to form a 51 man work force for roads. With continued gangs now in Plains and the Fifteenth District and a planned Americus push after January 1, local roads may improve substantially if funding via bonds is secured and more mules and equipment are acquired.
