County Engineer J B Ansley reports rapid progress on the Americus to Plains road. Over four miles paved with asphalt on a rock foundation, sourced from Sumter county, with farmers paid over 30000 dollars for rocks. If rain holds, completion within six months.
World war veterans urged to file bonus applications promptly through the American Legion. Applications previously handled by Lane and Lane are now available from C. W. He had been ill for months and doctors feared the shock of his son's confession and trial would prove fatal. He had recently returned from the Charlevoix Michigan summer home.
