Tragic Duck Hunting Accident In North Carolina
Thomas Ashe, a NC youth aged about 18, was accidentally shot and killed by his companion Herbert Stells while duck hunting in a small skiff on a river near Wiraaxatoy. Ashe fired at a duck, Stells loaded, and the shot struck Ashe in the back as he stood. The body was transported to the city for an inquest.
