The British ship Aberfoyle, 74 days from Newcastle, faced a captain’s spree and mutiny. Captain George M. Robertson was confined in the cabin after becoming violent. a crewman was lost overboard, a boatswain steered, and the captain drank carbolic acid, dying the next day. The vessel drifted at sea with no navigator until Melbourne bound. In Oakstap Cal Oct 26 Philip Rogers says his wife left him for Warsaw Wis over the Durant testimony and he forgives her. A Warsaw telegram reports Mrs Rogers and her sister have disappeared, and Rogers believes the family can now have peace. The Durant case testimony is concluded.
