Former Secretary John Sherman Dead After Prolonged Illness

Hon. John Sherman former representative and longtime senator and twice holding cabinet posts died at his Washington home at 6 45 this morning in his seventy eighth year. He suffered brain exhaustion amid old age and recent illnesses with nearly 36 hours of unconsciousness before death. Funeral services will be held in Washington and Mansfield Ohio.

American Soldiers Die in the Far East
