Skeleton found in Decatur county garret shocks Shelbyville

In Shelbyville on October 24 a prominent Sardina physician, Dr. John W. Riley, uncovered a human skeleton hidden in the attic of the old Clendenning farm house. The bones, intact though decomposed, point to a long hidden murder mystery linking farmer John Clendenning, vanished stock buyer McKinney, and a saddled bay horse. The skull bears a fracture from a ball, and local inquiry widens across Bartholomew and Brown counties as residents seek the truth behind decades of misfortune and disappearance.
