Alfred Ringling head of Ringling Bros circus died at his Oak Ridge estate aged 56. Born in McGregor Iowa he is survived by his widow a son and two brothers who are partners in the show business. Figures from telegraph lines describe a long career of showmanship and industry leadership.
Mrs. L. G. Council, chairman, said some committees met success while others did not. She urged all who can to phone the Times-Recorder to help finish the fund drive and save solicitors work. The drive seeks contributions to Agnes Scott endowment campaign with many expected donors and a push for results.
Souther Field will be reduced to seven officers and four enlisted personnel by next Monday. Discharges include First Lieut. James Carey and Second Lieut. Percy Whitney, with others slated for transfer or retirement. Major E. S. Schofield's status shifted after appealing to Washington, while Major Cronan moved to Dorr Field and Lt. Col. Ira A. Rader remains in command.

Tom Hodge was arrested today by Officer Forrest on a warrant from D. R. Andrews of Rylander Shoe Co. He is charged with stealing a delivery boy’s bicycle from the Rylander store on circus day. The bike was found at a repair shop on Nesth Jackoon street for repair, where it was identified and where the warrant awaited him.
Washington October 22 President Wilson enjoyed one of his best nights rest since falling ill his physicians reported this morning keeping up his steady progress toward recovery no new complications were announced and his condition remains closely monitored by the medical staff in the capital.

She has renounced German citizenship to recover her fortune seized by the United States alien property custodian. The late Baron von Sternberg was once German ambassador to the United States.
