Fort Myers, Oct. 20. A terrific hurricane is due to strike this part of the Florida coast this afternoon per weather forecasts. All electric power has been intermittently interrupted. trees and shrubbery suffered much from the high winds. Outlying districts are flooded by heavy rains with reports of strong winds in St. Petersburg, Sarasota, Tampa, and Clearwater, all within the storm district.

Man Killed in Auto Crash Near Covington
In Atlanta on Oct 20 J T Ethridge 70 was killed when the car carrying him and his son and daughter Mrs and Mrs M M Ethridge hit a truck driven by Jim Sanders of Porterdale. The injured were taken to an Atlanta hospital but may have been moved to a nearby house. The car was driven by Mrs Ethridge who was thought blinded by the truck headlights. The wreck happened on the Atlanta Augusta road.
