Local Exhibits Win in Columbus at Fair
At the Chattahoochee Valley fair in Columbus Am ericus and Sumter County are well represented with local residents claiming many prizes. W G Turpin won four prizes for Thompson Ringlet Jarred Rocks and pullet and cockerel firsts, his birds among 2000 entries. Mrs Ed Morgan earned several firsts in Buff Orpingtons with a loving cup for the best ten fowls. C C Hawkins took three firsts on hogs. Concord exhibit directed by Mrs S E DeLoach also won prizes, while Susie DeLoach earned a State College of Agriculture scholarship for top canning club work. J Ralston Cargill won two firsts for embossed Easter lily cakes and a similar display.
