Oct 11 report from Hostsvi ex Alabama states that Opesol Gier died and two others were fatally hurt at Camp Wheeler as Troopers from the Tenth Cavalry tried to free a comrade held for disorderly conduct. Gunfire spread to trains, with three cavalrymen wounded, two fatally, as guards suffered a fatal loss.
