Philadelphia Oct. 11 Ernest Fascenda faced detectives over a murder suspicion tied to Emma Dickson a 15 year old Millville N J student slain near Bhicksboro on Pot Elizabeth highway. Fascenda admits witnessing the act but withholds further details.
In Williamsport Pennsylvania on October 11 a passenger train struck a Williamsport run bus at Hepsburnville crossing, killing three and injuring others. In Akron Ohio on the same day a fast New York Cleveland train hit a horse drawn bus near Rootstown, killing eight children and injuring four more and one man.
Merchants report strong interest as models are selected and costumes ordered for the Americus Fashion Show at Rylander theater on October 19. Reserved seats go on sale Wednesday morning, with mail orders to Manager Kencey. Seats are 60 cents plus five cents war tax, and indications point to a sold out house featuring local talent and musical numbers by Mrs. Hamilton Holt and others.

Savannah Ga October 11 three riding rings to be constructed in the park for field artillery use by the 118th Field Artillery National Guard. Rings will cover enough area to accommodate many horses at once with night riding practice scheduled.
An intensive campaign against illicit distillers by Sheriff Jackson and Deputy Smith led to raids on two stills and the seizure of five gallons of brandy. At one house distillers escaped after fifty gallons of scrapper non brandy were found. at the other near the Oconee River two African American men were arrested and jailed in Sparta.
Lawrenceville held its annual sacred harp singing with an estimated attendance between five and six hundred. The event drew local residents and enthusiasts to the gathering, showcasing community participation in traditional hymn singing.

Atlanta Oct 11 Judge W D Ellis ruled in Fulton Superior court that a bogus check given by a husband to his wife does not warrant a divorce. The petition by Mrs Catherine Penebaker was withdrawn after the ruling. She had claimed embarrassment from attempting to cash the check his gave her.

Young Harris Georgia October 11 a state highway department agreement plans a new highway extending from Young Harris to Warne North Carolina. The route will connect with the Murphy highway which is nearly finished. Travel time from Young Harris to Murphy currently about five hours over 221 miles of road.
Peanuts move rapidly in Clay county with receivers for the Georgia Peanut Growers Co operative Association busy grading and sorting. Members can draw 75 per ton and local banks toward the organization. Pickers report light yields of 5 to 20 bushels.

Voters in Hawkinsville approved a switch to a three member city commission government. The plan becomes effective December 6 after commissioners are elected that date and the commission will appoint a business manager for the city.

Oklahoma City reports the legislature convened in extraordinary session after a governor's message urging action against the Ku Klux Klan. W. D. McBee was elected speaker amid opposition leader McBee’s rise, while martial law lifted from the state. The governor's message cited beatings and threats and asked reading of testimony about Klan activities in Tulsa and Louisiana-style outrages.
Elberton October 11: G L Johnson of Athens elected president of the Northeast Georgia Christian Endeavor Society at its annual meeting. Charles Hartisy of Windle named vice president. Officers include P B Hutchins of Statham secretary and Lamar Laboon of Athens treasurer.
