The German built airship ZR-3 is set to depart from Friderichshafen at dawn for Lakehurst New Jersey carrying twenty two people including Americans. Dr Hugo Eckener says the airship is in good condition after successful trials and ten watchmen guard the ship to prevent stowaways. If on schedule the ZR-3 should reach American soil by October 13 and aim to moor during daylight to welcome crew and passengers.

From Newport News Virginia October 10 two officers lieutenants Baird Marth and Alfred Ta are seriously injured when the United States blimp TC-2 exploded prematurely while bomb target practice. Five others including Master-Sergeant Fitch and Sergeants Wells and Jacobs were injured. The air craft had arrived from Aberdeen Maryland and exploded near noon today.
