Roanoke Alabama October 8 Five store houses and contents were totally destroyed by fire causing an estimated loss of about $50 000, partially insured. The blaze began in A J Brumit’s grocery, gaining headway before discovery. Firemen, aided by the town water system, saved the rest as Wood’s hardware Fausett’s store and other buildings were threatened but spared. Losses included Brumit groceries, Wood hardware and stock, Moorey broker and warehouse, Nelson’s barber shop and bottling works, and a vacant house.
