Two Mad Dogs Shot In Waycross Exterminator Police Record
In Waycross on October 9 two mad dogs, an Airdale and a bulldog, were shot by Policeman Leroy Smith at owner requests. The bulldog from Albany avenue had bitten a bird dog weeks earlier and shown mad symptoms, while the Airdale from College Hill roamed city streets before being located downtown and killed.

Funeral for 15-year-old John Phillips in Macon county
Americus friends attended the funeral at Fellowship Baptist church in Macon county for John Phillips aged fifteen. Elder J M Murray presided with burial in Fellowship cemetery. Survived by parents five sisters and five brothers, grandparents, and a large kinship across Sumter and Macon counties. He had surgery for acute appendicitis Saturday and died Sunday at 5 PM after working for Georgia Alabama Power near Albany. He was born in Macon county and moved to Americus as a child and attended Americus schools.

Information reached Americus today of the death in Quitman county of Alec Tell who passed away at his home there Monday morning at 9 o'clock. The remains were laid to rest at Springvale this afternoon at 3 o'clock. Tell was a former resident of Sumter county a prominent leader in church affairs and held public office in Quitman for twenty years. Surviving relatives in Americus and Sumter county include W. T. McMath Nora McMath Mrs. G. W. Bradford John F. McMath T. M. A. Finch and Mrs. F. M. Webb. A large family connection exists in Quitman Randolph and Webster counties.
