Methodist Conference Attends Great Meeting at Metropolitan Church

Railroad foreman dies after passenger train crash

A Deserter Caught in Amanta Georgia

Patrolman Powell arrested Ernest Jarvis a young deserter from the United States army. He gave the name Victor De Braumont and was born in England later moving with his parents to Cleveland Ohio. He deserted from Fort Florida in 1887 and then from Fort Adams in Newport Rhode Island last winter.

In Atlanta on October 1 a young man named Jobo Anderson from Wilmington North Carolina was jailed after a drinking spree. He had been at the Keely Institute to quit alcohol, left on Saturday, relapsed, drank hard on Sunday and Monday, and was arrested last night with sobbing pleas for pity as he sits in a cell. He is expected to be returned home today.
