London dispatch reports government circles believe the Irish conference will collapse quickly due to difficulties. An alternative settlement plan was presented to Sinn Fein requiring an oath of allegiance to the crown, which Sinn Fein is not prepared to give.
Jane Cowl the noted actress will be welcomed in Americus by three civic clubs Kiwanis Lions and Rotary with a bouquet of chrysanthemums. Officials say the city is fortunate to host her and commend Rylander Theater for bringing her to town. She arrives Friday at 11 oclock then proceeds to Macon and Atlanta. The stay includes a private car, dressing room refurnishing, and luxurious comforts costing about 900 dollars weekly.
Mrs. Wall of Ochlocknee opens a hotel at Newport Springs near St. Marks on the gulf. The spacious hostelry is tailored for hunters and Shermen seeking an eastern jaunt, with capacity for large parties and plans to attract guests for the season.

Bigham's mother sister and two adopted children were slain at the same time.
Washington dispatch reports Georgia congressmen J. W. Overstreet W. C. Lankford Frank Park Charles R. Crisp Carl Vinson and William W. Larsen joined by Hearst party to study a sales tax in Canada. The group travels by special train with expenses paid and side trips arranged. Hearst has invited a total of one hundred congressmen to join the study trip.

Central of Georgia proposes changing a mixed freight and passenger train between Americus and Columbus to gain delivery time for fast freight from Chicago without cutting passenger service. Officials from Columbus and Savannah gathered in Americus and found broad approval. If approved, the through freight would run 10:30 a.m. from Columbus, reaching Americus by 1:45 p.m., with Americus locals shifting to 4 p.m. to Columbus by 8:45 p.m. The change would allow same day delivery of shipments arriving on Chicago freight, aid perishables, and reduce afternoon shopping disruption for Americus residents and nearby towns. Pending sentiment and state railroad commission permission.
In Valdosta on November 30 the endance contest between the men’s Bible classes of First Baptist and First Methodist churches draws friendly interest. Tiedeman Jr. for his recent arrival, and guests praised the hostess and the club for the gesture.
Chicago officials report a trio form an egg pool that controls the city egg supply and nets about 30000 daily profit. Food expert Russell Poole announced after a two week investigation urging housewives to boycott eggs as prices surged from 9 1 2 cents a dozen to 53 cents yesterday as fresh eggs.
