Americus to Host 1926 South Georgia Conference
The South Georgia Methodist conference will hold its 1926 session at the First Methodist church in Americus in November. Rev. John Cutler and John Sheffield announced the invitation on return from Macon, with support from Americus clubs and officials. About 600 ministers and lay delegates are expected, welcomed by multiple denominations and local hosts.

Two Murder Cases on Next Week's Docket
The Superior court under Judge Littlejohn will hear two murder trials next week. E. J. Fulbright is charged with murdering a black soldier, and C. J. Governor Signs Chapman Stay in Connecticut
Hartford, Nov 28. Governor Trumbull issued a second reprieve for Gerald Chapman to March 3, 1926, to allow time for his U S Supreme Court appeal over a federal sentence he says blocks state execution for the murder of Policeman James Skelly in New Britain on Oct 12, 1924. John Coolidge and Mrs Coolidge were in the governor’s office as the petition was presented and the stay signed.

George D. Jones aged 14 was killed by his shotgun near Sumter City while hunting with three friends. He was the son of Roy P. Jones deputy sheriff of Lee County.
