A launch crowded with picnickers including many children struck a ferry on the Parana river northwest of Buenos Aires. Thirty four people died in the Sunday evening disaster with only three known survivors from the party aboard the launch.

Governor elect Clifford Walker agrees to head the committee of sponsors for the Christmas Seal campaign supporting tuberculosis agencies in Georgia. The effort, starting December 1, is backed by Kiwanis Rotarians Lions clubs and school parent groups, with a quota of 200 000 seals for city and county. The seal features a white Christmas tree and a mother, bearing the inscription For Health and the year 1922.

He said he hoped his old-time pep would return after a period away and noted he would fly via the Savannah coast route. Congressman Charles R. Crisp had recently declined to join him on the trip. Herrick will be accompanied by F. W. Crage.

Los Angeles report states Clara Phillips, convicted of second degree murder in the hammer killing of Alberta Meadows, was sentenced to from 10 years to life in prison. Her attorneys gave notice of appeal.

In Greenville Tennessee a coroner's jury failed to determine if Dr Frank Fox 30 was killed or died by his own hand. Officials opened a new inquiry to explore possible motives jealousy or mistaken identity in the physician's death found in his car near Greenville yesterday.
