On November 26 the battleship Wisconsin was launched at Union Ironworks Frisco, the largest vessel yet built for the United States. Crowds cheered as Miss Lucile Gaze pressed the keel, and Elizabeth Stephenson broke champagne on the bow. The vessel measures 803 feet long, 72 feet beam, with a 11,525 ton normal displacement and 16 6 inch and 4 14 inch guns. Crew includes 419 personnel and 40 officers.

The fight to redirect funds to the state treasury continues, with Seymour of Sumter leading anti Mobile efforts. A test vote favored reference to the opponents' committee, but the Mobile delegation won and the special privilege remains intact for now.

Plan sent to Alger details a Topeka invention by Dr. R Gabbey and Torexa for a lighter aircraft. He describes three rotating discs on each side to generate lift, claiming 27 000 pounds lifting capacity, a 1 600 pound frame, and a 150 horsepower gasoline engine. The design aims to lift the craft and reduce weight, with plans to submit to Washington.
