A fire in M'Donough on Saturday night destroyed the Southern railway station and S. W. Farrer's store, with total losses estimated at 25,000 dollars. Forty Five Egg Hatcheries Open in Georgia State

Athens November 26 Forty five hatcheries with capacity of 532300 eggs are in operation in Georgia, up from last year by more than 34000. Professor J H Wood of the State College of Agriculture notes poultry products consumed in the state exceed 40000000 dollars while local production is under half this amount. Incubator capacity could supply seven chicks per farm, with Georgia well suited to poultry raising and a potential surplus for outside markets. Forty two county poultry associations are active and over thirty seek college assistance.

Dr H J Pearce president of Beve Nant College Gainesville will deliver the fall convocation address at Emory University on December 18. He graduated from Emory College in 1895 and holds degrees from the University of Chicago and a PhD from the University of Würzburg. He is regarded among the Souths leading educators.
